Check these three states first
The official fix first appeared in v1.0.009r.
Do not assume the same behavior applies to MyPod.
The current order wording is more useful than an old prompt.
Only when all remaining required tasks are complete.
What the official patch confirms
The developer's v1.0.009r announcement lists an “updating firmware” bug for Guitar Legend and MyPod among the fixes. It does not explain whether an order created before the patch is migrated, whether Guitar Legend should still show a firmware task, or a special recovery sequence.
Safe check for an active Guitar Legend order
- Confirm the version. Install the official game update through Steam and verify that the build is v1.0.009r or later.
- Preserve the save. Do not discard the order or start a new game just to test a theory.
- Re-open the order. Read the current checklist from the top and note whether firmware is still a required line.
- Complete the physical repair. Clean, replace, reassemble, and satisfy every task the patched order still displays.
- Try normal delivery. A current Steam thread reports that the patched Guitar Legend can be delivered without a firmware step when the requirement has been removed.
- Stop if it remains blocked. Capture the version, checklist, device state, and whether the order existed before the patch.
Do not copy the Guitar result to MyPod
The same player discussion distinguishes the two devices: it reports that Guitar Legend should not require firmware, while MyPod still has a firmware interaction. Treat a MyPod failure as a separate symptom and use the broader firmware update checklist.
What to include if the order is still blocked
- Installed version and operating system.
- Whether the order started before or after v1.0.009r.
- The exact remaining checklist lines.
- Whether the device is fully assembled and otherwise complete.
- A screenshot of the order and the point where delivery fails.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to download firmware?
No. This is an in-game repair state. Do not download third-party firmware or modify a real device.
Does the patch repair every old order?
The official notes do not say. Current players specifically questioned orders that were already active before the patch.
Should I restart the whole game?
Not as a first step. Preserve the save, check the patched order, and document the blocked state before making an irreversible change.
