Version-sensitive bugs and compatibility differences are expected.

What the free No Gameplay Demo does

The official page lists a free No Gameplay Demo 0.5.0. Its purpose is to test whether your microphone can record before you buy, and the developer has also described it as including the pack editor while preventing normal game modes from starting.

  1. Download it from the official store page. Do not search for a separate “free full version.”
  2. Test both live input and recorded playback. A moving meter alone does not prove that the game can save and replay your voice.
  3. Try one ordinary stereo output. The developer says the known Godot recording bug is often associated with multichannel or surround audio.
  4. Decide after the test. If recorded playback is silent, read the microphone guide before buying or requesting a refund.

Is The Choicer Voicer on Steam?

No official Steam release is available at the time of this check. In the developer's August 3, 2026 Q&A, YeahMaybe said a Steam release was not close because the game remains in alpha and would need a more complete rewrite and Steam integration work. The developer wants a Steam release eventually, but did not announce a date.

You can add a downloaded executable to your own Steam library as a non-Steam game, but that does not make it an official Steam release, add Workshop support, or guarantee Remote Play Together.

Is there an Android APK or mobile version?

No official Android APK or iOS version is listed. The developer's current page identifies only Windows and Linux, explicitly says there is no macOS version, and says the game is not designed for Chromebook. Because the developer also warns that other sites using the game's name may be unaffiliated copycats, an APK page should not be treated as official without a link from YeahMaybe.

Do not sideload an “official APK” claim
An APK cannot be verified as official merely because it uses the game's name, artwork or version number. The official store currently provides no APK.

Safe-download checklist

  • Start from the developer's itch.io page or a link published in an official devlog.
  • Ignore comment links claiming to be a free game, newest update or cracked mobile build. The developer has warned about malicious download-link bots in itch comments.
  • Keep Windows security warnings enabled. Do not disable antivirus because a comment tells you to.
  • For content packs, expect archives containing media and metadata—not an installer that replaces the game executable.
  • Record the filename and version before testing an experimental build so you can return to a known working copy.

Frequently asked questions

Is The Choicer Voicer free?

The full game is not free. The official free download is a No Gameplay Demo for testing the microphone and pack tools.

Will buying on itch.io give me a future Steam key?

No official Steam-key promise was found. Treat any future key policy as unknown until the developer publishes it.

Can I play it in a mobile browser?

No official web or mobile build is listed. A website claiming to “play The Choicer Voicer online” is not the developer's current downloadable game unless YeahMaybe links it.
